Hawkins' Injury Exposes Browns' Lack of WR Depth

Losing Hawkins could be a significant hit to Cleveland's offense, as he was fourth on the team with 20 receptions behind Travis Benjamin, Gary Barnidge and Duke Johnson Jr.

Hawkins led the team in receiving last season with 63 catches for 824 yards to go along with two touchdowns. His importance has carried over to 2015 despite Cleveland bringing in some new pass-catchers.

The former Toledo star is in his second campaign with the Browns after spending three years with the rival Bengals. Although he proved in 2014 that he is capable of making a big impact, he remains one of the NFL's most underrated players.

It is easy to overlook him because he is diminutive at 5'7", but he is an excellent route-runner who excels at moving the chains and bailing his quarterback out if need be. It is no secret that the Browns were already hurting in terms of playmakers on the offensive side of the ball, so Hawkins' absence was one of the last things Cleveland needed.
