David Rose, Evyn Cooper Arrested for Theft: Latest Details, Comments, Reaction

Two Purdue freshman football players are battling legal trouble following arrests Wednesday morning.ย 

According to theย Lafayette Journal & Courier, Purdue University police arrested cornerbacks David Rose and Evyn Cooper Wednesday for the alleged theft of bicycles.ย 

Theย Journal & Courierย reported Purdue head football coachย Darrell Hazell "is aware of the incident and will let the legal process play out," per universityย associate athletic director for communication Matt Rector.ย 

Rose and Cooper are three-star recruits who signed letters of intent to play for the Boilermakers on Feb. 4 and officially enrolled at the school on Aug. 24.ย 

No other details regarding the alleged crimes have been disclosed at this time, and Hazell has yet to announce if the players will be available for Saturday's home game against Virginia Tech.ย
