Ole Miss vs. Alabama: Ticket Info, Date, TV Schedule and Live Stream
It's rematch time Saturday night in the cannibalistic SEC West when the No. 2 Alabama Crimson Tide plays host to the No. 15 Ole Miss Rebels.
At a time for the SEC when Arkansas goes down at the hands of Toledo and Auburn struggles with Jacksonville State, it's not hard to think back to last season, when the Rebels dealt the Crimson Tide their lone loss of the regular season.
This year, both teams start over under center but have looked great so far. Alabama cruised past then-No. 20 Wisconsin 35-17 and handled business against Mid Tennessee. Ole Miss has looked explosive, besting UT Martin and Fresno State by a combined score of 149-24.
Now the two forces collide to kick off their conference slates. Here's everything to know about the heavyweight bout.

In With the New

The eye-popping numbers through the first two weeks of the season for Ole Miss fall right on the shoulders of new quarterback Chad Kelly.
Kelly, who has bounced around with several teams over the years, seems to have found a home with the Rebels in Hugh Freeze's offense. Through two games, Kelly has 557 yards and six touchdowns to one interception, as well as two more scores on the ground.
For Kelly, it sounds like he's been waiting a long time to get a shot at Alabama, per Ben Garrett of Scout.com:
On the road in a loud environment, the Rebels need Kelly to be up to task. The Ole Miss line is smaller than Alabama's, and there's little doubt Nick Saban will throw blitzes Kelly's way to see if he can handle it.
The good news? The Rebels seem like they can balance the attack out via the ground game, considering the offense averages a healthy 7.8 yards-per-carry number with nine scores. Iffy competition inflates the numbers, but Kelly will need his backs to balance things out or risk mistakes.
Unlike say, Auburn, Ole Miss appears on the right track when it comes to transitioning at key spots. Saturday, Kelly and Co. will have the theory put to the test.
Winning With the Old
Same old Alabama, right?
Thanks to the combination of Derrick Henry and Kenyan Drake, the Crimson Tide already have seven scores on the ground, and they look like the key component to keeping Kelly and the suddenly explosive Ole Miss offense off the field.
The numbers do the talking:
| Derrick Henry | 31 | 243 | 7.8 | 6 |
| Kenyan Drake | 16 | 117 | 7.3 | 1 |
How important is the rush? ESPN.com provided context: "Ole Miss held the Tide to less than 4 yards per rush in its win last season. That has been a key number for the Crimson Tide; eight of their 11 losses since 2008 (Saban’s second season) have come when they fail to average 4 yards per carry."
Not to say Jake Coker can't get it done through the air. He's completing 63.8 percent of his passes with a pair of scores, but with Amari Cooper gone, it's clear Saban wants to get back to the ground and pound.
At home against a smaller team, it's an approach that should work, especially with the freakishly athletic Henry leading the way in carries. "Should" is a lot different than "will," though—two words that got thrown around quite a lot before last year's game.
Prediction
Las Vegas seems to have the right lead on this one.
Kelly looks great, but until the high-octane show puts up numbers against a proven defense, it's a moot point. On the other hand, Alabama is a known commodity capable of winning in the trenches on both sides of the football. The offense features perhaps the best back in the land.
Sprinkle in home-field advantage for good measure, and keep in mind the Rebels might be without their best offensive lineman, Laremy Tunsil.
Alabama will impose its will in this one and limit Kelly's chances in a noisy stadium. Look for the Crimson Tide to get the lead and never look back.
Prediction: Alabama 27, Ole Miss 20
