Michigan Fan Allegedly Assaulted Oregon State Player at the Big House
Michigan Wolverines fans created a great atmosphere Saturday at the Big House for the school's 35-7 thrashing of Oregon State, but one spectator went too far by allegedly assaulting a Beavers player.
According to Jeremy Allen of MLive.com, a University of Michigan official revealed a man was ejected from the game for allegedly grabbing or slapping an unidentified Oregon State player's helmet while he was in the tunnel.
Per Allen, there were five ejections and one arrest made among the nearly 110,000 people in attendance for Jim Harbaugh's first win as head coach of the Wolverines.
There is arguably no cooler environment in college football than Michigan Stadium when it is filled to capacity, but there are bound to be some unfortunate incidents when so many people are in one place.
Significant discipline is usually the best way to deter others from engaging in unruly behavior in the future, and according to Allen, the University of Michigan is hoping an arrest will be made for the alleged assault.
If that ultimately happens, then it will be a huge statement to subsequent spectators that such actions will be met with major consequences.
