Olympiakos vs. Bayern Munich: Team News, Predicted Lineups, Live Stream, TV Info

Stefan BienkowskiSep 15, 2015

Pep Guardiola will be under immense pressure to hit the ground running in the European competition this season and see through a stern and proper attempt at winning the entire thing. This will be his third campaign in Europe with Bayern and until this point, expectations have been left wanting.

The Bavarian club will undoubtedly be favourites going into the tie in Greece, but they do have a long list of injuries to contend with. We await to see if the German champions can clear this early, but tricky hurdle.

Team News and Lineups

Javi Martinez, Arjen Robben, Mehdi Benatia, Holger Badstuber, Jan Kirchhoff and Franck Ribery will all be watching Wednesday night's game from the sidelines with injuries, meaning Guardiola will have to be sure he can shuffle his squad around properly to accommodate the sheer amount of missing faces.

The home side have been granted a little more fortune ahead of this clash, with only new forward signing El Fardou Ben Nabouhane expected to miss the game through injury.

Key Players

With Bayern missing so many important players, the key to any success in Greece will no doubt come from the likes of Thomas Muller, Robert Lewandowski and Douglas Costa—and specifically just how each of these three forwards can compensate for the lack of Robben or Ribery.

Olympiakos will be hoping for a tight, defensive performance, which in turn may well rely upon the mood Esteban Cambiasso is on on the night. The Argentinian defensive midfielder may be in the twilight of his career, but he has proven countless times that age simply doesn't get in the way of anything when he wants to frustrate opponents.

Olympiakos: 650
