The Champions League takes centre stage as the footballing world turns its attention to the beginning of the group stages of the competition. 

Chief among the storylines is Manchester United's return to the Champions League after a one-year absence. 

In spite of their return, their reputation and their hefty spending over the past two summers, boss Louis van Gaal doesn't think his side is good enough to conquer Europe, per Alex Richards of Mirror Sport.
