ESPN College GameDay Headed to Oregon vs. Michigan State for Week 2
New College GameDay host Rece Davis will make his first on-campus road trip when he, Kirk Herbstreit, Lee Corso and and the rest of the gang head north in Week 2 for one of the biggest nonconference games of the season: Oregon at Michigan State.
The show's official Twitter account broke the news:
GameDay was in attendance when Oregon hosted Michigan State last season.
The Spartans led by nine points in the third quarter, but Oregon's patented tempo, along with the triple-digit heat in Autzen Stadium, became too much for Mark Dantonio's team to handle, and the Ducks pulled away by scoring the final 28 points of a 46-27 win.
"I've been thinking about that game a lot," Michigan State quarterback Connor Cook said this summer on Sirius XM Radio's College Sports Nation, via Joe Rexrode of the Detroit Free Press. "Really looking forward to hosting them [in 2015]."
Both teams won their Week 1 games by double digits, but neither defense looked ready for the other's offense. Sparty allowed 383 yards and 24 points at Western Michigan, while Oregon allowed 549 yards and 42 points to Eastern Washington.

Speaking of Eastern Washington, former EWU quarterback Vernon Adams, one of the most prolific FCS players of all time, will hit the road for the first time since arriving at Oregon and replacing Heisman Trophy winner Marcus Mariota.
East Lansing is a hostile environment, but based on what Oregon did to Michigan State's defense last season, along with what J.T. Barrett did when Ohio State visited the Spartans, there is reason to believe he'll find success against a retooled secondary.
But the same might be said of Cook, who played well last year in Eugene and now faces a secondary without graduated seniors Ifo Ekpre-Olomu, Troy Hill and Erick Dargan. Based on what the Ducks showed in Week 1, they haven't figured how to replace them.
In short: Get ready for a shootout.
Sound off below and let us know whom you're picking to win!
