Arch Manning Comes Up Clutch, Box Score Stats, Highlights, Draft Stock from Texas' Win vs. Mizzou

Adam WellsNov 7, 2026

In what has been a roller coaster of a season for Arch Manning, the Texas standout came up huge with two second-half touchdown passes to lead the Longhorns to a 34-20 road win over No. 18 Missouri.

Manning endured some of the inconsistency that has been present throughout his career, but he rebounded to finish with his most passing yards in a game since the season opener against Texas State.

This was the second consecutive game for Manning with three touchdown passes and no interceptions. He has completed at least 70 percent of his attempts in three of the last four games.

Manning did a good job of keeping the offense running after Missouri would take a lead, engineering four scoring drives to tie the game after the Tigers went up. His fifth scoring drive gave the Longhorns their first lead late in the fourth quarter.

Manning dropped a dime to Raleek Brown down the sideline for a 23-yard touchdown pass that put Texas on top 27-20 with 5:03 remaining.

Another highlight of Manning's day came two possessions earlier with a 25-yard touchdown pass to Jermaine Bishop Jr. on third-and-10 in the third quarter that evened things 20-20.

After the Texas defensed forced a Missouri punt on the next possession, Manning missed a wide-open Emmett Mosley V on third-and-9 for what would have been an easy first down.

Tyler Horka of Inside Texas did note Mosley may have been more at fault for the incompletion on that play for slowing down on his route.

Manning remains an enigma for fans and draft analysts as they think about where things stand with the 2027 quarterback class.

After Manning did his part to put Texas on top, the defense really stepped up in the clutch. Mizzou went three-and-out on its next possession.

Texas was unable to run much time off the clock after getting the ball back by also going three-and-out, but the defense stepped up two plays later when Warren Roberson forced a fumble with a hit on Cayden Lee that Graceon Littleton snagged out of the air.

Brown punched the ball in on third down to seal the victory for Texas and significantly increase its chances of reaching the College Football Playoff.

The Longhorns were ranked No. 7 in the initial top 25 released on Tuesday. This marks their fourth victory over a team currently ranked in the top 20, but the schedule doesn't ease up.

Texas has another marquee road game next week against LSU in Baton Rouge. That is the Longhorns' final regular-season game against a currently-ranked opponent.
