No. 8 UCLA Offering Free Tuition in Contest for Students Attending Illinois Game

No. 8 UCLA is putting free tuition on the line to encourage students to attend the Bruins' next home game.

Two students attending the Nov. 13 game against visiting Illinois can enter a raffle to have one quarter of their in-state tuition fees paid by UCLA's NIL collective, the football program announced Thursday.

Students must arrive before kickoff and stay until the fourth quarter of the game to be eligible for the raffle, according to UCLA.

The Rose Bowl has a capacity of 91,136 fans, making it one of the largest stadiums in college football. UCLA has averaged 31,461 fans per home game so far this season, per D1 Ticker.

UCLA isn't the first school to work on keeping students in the stands for an entire game by offering a raffle for discounted tuition. Maryland also held a raffle for spring 2027 tuition during last Saturday's home game against the Fighting Illini.

The Bruins were listed at No. 5 in the AP Poll before coming in at No. 8 in the first College Football Playoff ranking released earlier this week.

UCLA will continue making a case for the program's first CFP bid this Saturday at Minnesota before returning to Pasadena for what the Bruins hope will be a packed home game the following Friday.
