Giants' Jameis Winston Joins FSU's Boosters Board, QB Won 2013 Heisman Trophy

Former Florida State star Jameis Winston is adding his profile to help the Seminoles return to prominence in the ACC.

The Seminole Boosters announced on Thursday that Winston has joined their board of directors.

Seminole Boosters is the non-profit organization that helps to provide support to student-athletes, as well as fund various projects and enhancements related to Florida State sports.

The group helped provide financial assistance to the recent renovations at Doak Campbell Stadium.

Winston attended Florida State from 2012 to '14. After redshirting as a true freshman, he was named the starting quarterback and led one of the most successful seasons in Seminoles history in 2013.

He joined Charlie Ward and Chris Weinke as the only Heisman winners in FSU history. The Seminoles finished 14-0 and defeated Auburn in the BCS Championship Game to win the national title in 2013.

Florida State fired head coach Mike Norvell on Sunday following a 36-24 loss to Clemson that dropped the team's record to 3-5 this season.

The Seminoles are 10-22 since the start of the 2024 season after going 13-1 in 2023. They haven't won a bowl game since defeating Oklahoma in the Cheez-It Bowl in December 2022.
