Jeremiah Smith Labeled 'Perfect Blend' of Terrell Owens, Julio Jones, Andre Johnson by NFL Exec

Multiples NFL scouts have compared wide receiver Jeremiah Smith to Andre Johnson and Julio Jones during his junior season at Ohio State, ESPN's Jordan Reid reported Friday.

According to Reid, one NFC assistant general manager described Smith as "dominant from the moment he touched the field like Larry [Fitzgerald]."

"He's like a perfect football blend of Julio Jones, Andre Johnson and Terrell Owens," the assistant GM said, per Reid.

Reid described references to Jones and Johnson as "the two most popular comparisons to Smith from scouts I've talked to over the past few months."

That might be a sign Smith has achieved his goal of becoming more of a YAC threat, which he said this summer would be a focus during his junior season.

Smith, listed as the top overall prospect on Bleacher Report's 2027 NFL draft big board, has yet to slow down since a historic freshman season during which he helped the Buckeyes win a national title.

After contributing 95 receiving yards per game as a sophomore, Smith is up to 140 receiving yards per game through seven contests of his junior season.

He is heading into this weekend ranked second among all college wide receivers with 984 receiving yards and 12 touchdown passes.

Smith may be playing without Julian Sayin for the near future given that the quarterback has been labeled out indefinitely after suffering a right arm injury two weeks ago.

Ohio State coach Ryan Day has yet to confim whether Luke Fahey or Tavien St. Clair will be starting in Sayin's place at USC this Saturday. Whether Smith is able to continue producing despite the quarterback turnover could further influence scouts' opinions of him as a potential top pick in the 2027 NFL draft.
