New NBA Rumors Reveal 2 Potential Kevin Porter Jr. Landing Spots After Bucks Release
Kevin Porter Jr. is reportedly generating interest from multiple potential suitors after the Milwaukee Bucks waived him before the season.
NBA insiders Marc Stein and Jake Fischer reported Monday that the Denver Nuggets and Sacramento Kings are among those teams who "are still evaluating their respective backcourts and" could be interested.
Stein and Fischer added that Porter remains "optimistic" he will have an opportunity to remain in the NBA even though "finding a new home will not be immediate" since he is "not close to two-way eligibility" as a 2019 draftee.

Teams That Already Need a Trade 🙏
Porter entered the league as a first-round pick in that draft and has played for the Cleveland Cavaliers, Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Clippers and Bucks throughout his career.
He has averaged double-digit scoring totals in every season of his career, including in 2025-26 when he posted 17.4 points, 7.4 assists, 5.2 rebounds and 2.2 steals a night while shooting 46.5 percent from the field and 32.2 percent from deep.
However, Porter appeared in just 38 games last season as he dealt with a right knee injury that eventually required surgery.
Still, it isn't surprising teams are interested after he finished with numbers like that, even if they came in limited appearances.
Sacramento could also use the backcourt depth with Ben Simmons out for the season because of a torn Achilles. Porter could, in theory, help anchor the second unit alongside Malik Monk and provide another high-scoring guard when Darius Acuff Jr. comes out of games.
As for the Nuggets, they could use more scoring outside of Nikola Jokić and Jamal Murray. They are the only ones on the team averaging better than 13.5 points per game in the early going this season and often have to do much of the heavy lifting on the offensive side.
Porter also won't cost any draft capital in return like he may have in a trade, so one of these teams could jump at the chance to add him in the future.
