Mensah threw for 387 yards with four touchdowns and no picks, while Toney racked up a school-record 16 catches for 194 yards and three scores in the Hurricanes' 52-23 victory.

2026 Heisman Trophy Odds

  • Jeremiah Smith, WR, Ohio State (+150)
  • Darian Mensah, QB, Miami (+320)
  • Malachi Toney, WR, Miami (+320)
  • Trinidad Chambliss, QB, Ole Miss (+600)
  • CJ Carr, QB, Notre Dame (+2200)
  • Jesse Legree, WR, Oregon State (+2200)
  • Bear Bachmeier, QB, BYU (+3000)
  • Gunner Stockton, QB, Georgia (+6000)
  • Drew Mestemaker, QB, Oklahoma State (+8000)
  • Sam Leavitt, QB, LSU (+8000)
  • Gio Lopez, QB, Wake Forest (+8000)

Ohio State wide receiver Jeremiah Smith still sits atop the Heisman odds during the Buckeyes' bye week, but his campaign hit a snag when starting quarterback Julian Sayin suffered a potentially season-ending injury last weekend.

Whether Luke Fahey or Tavien St. Clair wins the QB1 battle at Ohio State will shape both the Buckeyes' playoff odds and Smith's odds of being celebrated as the top player in college football.

Oregon State wideout Jesse Legree, who currently leads all college wideouts with 1,040 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns in seven games, is on a bye this weekend.

Georgia and Notre Dame are also on break. Fighting Irish quarterback CJ Carr has retained high odds despite conceding a narrow loss to Bear Bachmeier and BYU last Saturday, while Gunner Stockton remained in the Heisman conversation despite Auburn's upset of Georgia the same day.

Ole Miss quarterback Trinidad Chambliss will get the chance to build his own case in a Saturday matchup at No. 19 Texas, where Arch Manning has gone from being seen as a Heisman contender to drawing doubts as to his QB1 status going forward.

Joining Manning as an early-season favorite no longer seen as top Heisman candidate is Indiana quarterback Josh Hoover, who struggled in a low-scoring Saturday overtime win at Michigan.
