Chad Johnson Offers Jesse Legree $2M in NIL to Stay at Oregon State, WR Leads NCAA in Yards and TDs
Wide receiver Jesse Legree has had a tremendous freshman season at Oregon State, but naturally, the conversation surrounding him has been more about where he'll end up in the transfer portal.
Chad Johnson is hoping he can outbid top schools that try to lure Legree away from Corvallis. Johnson, who played college football at Oregon State, told head coach JaMarcus Shepard that he'll match a $2 million payment to Legree.
"Hey (JaMarcus Shepard), you give him $2 million, I give him $2 million. That's $4 million right there," Johnson said on his podcast, Nightcap Show.

Legree was just a 3-star prospect coming out of high school, but has quickly proved to be one of the best receivers in college football. He currently leads the nation in receiving yards (1,040) and receiving touchdowns (14). The only receiver even close to him is Ohio State's Jeremiah Smith, a Heisman Trophy candidate.
Since Oregon State is a smaller program compared to the Texas, Georgia and Ohio States of the world, it's fair to assume the Beavers will be outbid if and when Legree hits the portal this offseason.
But perhaps Johnson's donation will help convince him to stay at Oregon State.
