Kalen DeBoer Warns Alabama 'It's Going to Be Really Uncomfortable' After Tennessee Upset Loss
Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer plans to take a tougher approach with his team moving forward after the No. 6 Crimson Tide suffered a 26-10 loss to No. 14 Tennessee on Saturday.
"It's going to be really uncomfortable," DeBoer said, according to 247Sports' Mike Rodak.
"We've been through this before and we got it done," he added, per Rodak. "I told the guys, this is a team that can do it."
The defeat marked Alabama's second consecutive loss following a 5-0 start to the season.
In 2025, the Crimson Tide's second defeat of the year came in their 10th game.
DeBoer's squad kept pace with Tennessee through the first two quarters on Saturday, only trailing 12-10 at halftime of the contest.
Still, the Volunteers took a two-score lead with a 60-yard touchdown drive during their first possession of the third quarter and never looked back. Alabama was held scoreless in the second half.
With it's worth noting that the Crimson Tide were without key contributors including wide receiver Ryan Coleman-Williams and center Racin Delgatty due to injuries, their offensive struggles against the Volunteers were disappointing regardless.
Alabama committed four turnovers and compiled a mere 201 total yards as a team, converting two of 13 opportunities on third down and one of three chances on fourth down.
Crimson Tide quarterback Keelon Russell finished 19-of-29 for 147 yards and two interceptions. Russell added a touchdown on the ground, but also lost a fumble.
DeBoer will attempt to help Alabama get back on track in its next matchup, a clash with Texas A&M on Oct. 24.
