Cal Unveils Grateful Dead Helmets in Trending Photo Ahead of Game vs. Wake Forest

California will honor the Grateful Dead with its helmet for Saturday's game against Wake Forest.

The design includes the band's trademark lightning bolt down the center and the "Dancing Bears" on the back bumper:

The Grateful Dead originated in Palo Alto, California, which is the home of Cal's biggest rival, Stanford. The band had a number of performances at Berkeley's Greek Theatre, though, and built a strong connection with the city.

The Golden Bears are coming off a 25-20 win over Virginia Tech that got them back to .500 (3-3).

Wake Forest is 5-1 and 21st in the Associated Press Top 25 poll. Should Cal pull off the upset, it will be a massive result for first-year coach Tosh Lupoi.
