Celtics' Jaylen Brown Tribute Video Plans Revealed in New NBA Rumors After 76ers Trade
The Boston Celtics plan to honor their former star when he comes to town this season.
Per Adam Himmelsbach of the Boston Globe, the team plans to show a tribute video for Jaylen Brown when the Philadelphia 76ers play in Boston in January. The Celtics and Sixers play a preseason game on Saturday, but the tribute will be saved for the regular season.
The Celtics traded Brown to Philadelphia in July in exchange for Paul George and a package of draft picks, ending his 10-year run with the team that drafted him in 2016.

1 Player Every Team Should Trade ๐
To see Brown get a tribute video is no surprise, considering he's one of the team's best players of the 21st century. He helped lead the team to a pair of Finals appearances, including a title in 2024. He was named the Eastern Conference MVP and the Finals MVP that year. He also earned five All-Star nods and two All-NBA Second Team honors while in Boston.
Celtics president of basketball operations Brad Stevens said the trade was motivated in part by financial considerations given Brown and Tatum are both on max contracts.
It's hard to imagine Celtics fans having any bitterness towards Brown since it wasn't his choice to leave, so he should receive a warm welcome when he returns to Boston.
