Alabama's Ryan Coleman-Williams Says He's 'Literally Like Spider-Man' After Fixing Drop Issues

Alabama wide receiver Ryan Coleman-Williams thinks he compares favorably to a beloved superhero after working to fix the drop issues that plagued his 2025 season.

Speaking to ESPN's Alex Scarborough, Coleman-Williams described himself as being "literally like Spider-Man" amid his streak of four consecutive games without a drop.

"Now, when it comes to the ball, I'm literally like Spider-Man. It's a lot easier," he said. "It's night and day."

Coleman-Williams has had a roller-coaster ride throughout his college career thus far. He arrived at Alabama in 2024 as arguably the best freshman wide receiver recruit in the country, a class that also included Ohio State's Jeremiah Smith.

After a strong debut season with 865 yards and eight touchdowns, Coleman-Williams took a step back in 2025. He put up 689 yards and four touchdowns, but most concerning was a 16.9 percent drop rate.

It looked like that was going to carry over into 2026 when Coleman-Williams had two drops through the first two quarters of Alabama's season-opening win over East Carolina.

To help fix the issue, Alabama head athletic trainer Jeff Allen told Scarborough they used virtual reality training during the offseason.

The results are showing up on the stat sheet. Coleman-Williams doesn't have a drop in his last four games, has already matched his touchdown total from 2025 and is averaging a career-high 18.8 yards per reception.

Alabama will need Coleman-Williams to show off his Spider-Man hands on Saturday when it hosts No. 2 Georgia in a game that could determine one of the two representatives in the SEC Championship Game.
