He hit a Heisman Trophy pose after his record-breaking score.
Ohio State head coach Ryan Day praised Smith after the victory.
"As you can imagine, drawing plays up for him is a lot of fun," Day told CBS Sports' Jenny Dell. "But the most amazing thing about Jeremiah Smith is his work ethic every day. How much he loves to win, how competitive he is, the way he works every day, the example he sets. Not only is he a great player, he's become a great leader. I've challenged him before, like it isn't just about you, it's about the team and he's been brought up that way his whole life. That's just his mindset."
Smith was already in the Heisman conversation heading into Saturday's action, as he racked up 617 receiving yards and seven touchdown catches while averaging 18.7 yards per reception across his first four games of the year.
He's attempting become the first Ohio State player to capture the Heisman Trophy since Troy Smith in 2006.
