Conversations about Florida being a potential contender this season lasted about one week.

The Missouri Tigers absolutely dominated the Gators on Saturday, blowing them out 45-17 behind a passing game that moved the ball at will all evening and an epic performance from running back Jamal Roberts.

Here's a look at the game's key performers:

Roberts put on an absolute show against Florida, particularly in the second half:

Simmons had the Tigers cooking through the air as well:

As lopsided as the final score was, it doesn't quite put into perspective just how one-sided this game was (especially after halftime). Missouri finished with 560 yards compared to just 325 for Florida. Missouri rushed for 220 yards; Florida was held to just 42. The Gators simply couldn't consistently get the Tigers off the field—Missouri finished 7-of-13 on third-down conversions.

And after Florida tied the game at 10-apiece in the second quarter, Missouri rattled off 35 straight points until Florida finally pushed across one final touchdown in the fourth quarter.

In the SEC, you are only as good as your latest performance, and Saturday was a strong reminder after Florida came into the game with plenty of hype following its win over Ole Miss. The Gators will have to recovery quickly, as a winnable matchup next weekend against South Carolina is followed by a road game at Texas and a home game against Georgia to close out October.

As for Missouri, the Tigers will assuredly be the newest SEC flavor of the week and will be bumped up the rankings. They'll look to avoid a similar letdown to the one that befell Florida when they face Texas A&M next week.
