After being traded from the Boston Celtics to the Philadelphia 76ers, star guard Jaylen Brown didn't take long to adopt the new company line.

While speaking to reporters on Thursday about the Sixers' star-studded starting lineup that also includes LeBron James, Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey and VJ Edgecombe, Brown dropped the "Trust the Process" tagline twice. He added that he wants the starting five to see time on the court together during the preseason and carry a "growth mindset" into each game as they try to develop chemistry.

"Patience is a virtue," Brown said, "and you've just got to trust the process."

Brown also highlighted how instrumental Maxey has been in facilitating the transition for him and the rest of Philadelphia's new faces.

"Tyrese has been a great leader. He's been a great host," Brown told reporters. "โ€ฆ He's been the one making sure everybody has been accommodated."

The 29-year-old added that Maxey has also helped him and everyone else adjust to the offensive system under head coach Nick Nurse.

"He's just been a great communicator," Brown told reporters. "He's been leading with his voice early on. He's going out of his way to make sure that I feel comfortable in the system."

Brown has been known for his intense offseason workouts, but he said some of the younger members of Philadelphia's roster have shown him early respect by asking to join him.

Brown and the Sixers will open the preseason against the New York Knicks on Oct. 5.
