Jordan purchased the car in May of 1997 and was seen leaving the United Center hours after winning his fifth NBA championship with the Chicago Bulls. According to Joopiter, Jordan had a cigar in his hand and the Larry O'Brien Trophy in his car when he left the arena.
As for the specs, Joopiter noted that the Ferrari has a "Tipo F133A 5.5-litre naturally aspirated V12, producing 485 horsepower through a six-speed gated manual, with a top speed of 199 mph."
Ferrari made only 3,083 550 Maranello between 1996 and 2001. Jordan's car is different than any others, though, as it was made with a custom driver seat tracks to fit his 6'6" frame.
Nike designer Tinker Hatfield later used the vehicle as the inspiration for the Air Jordan 14.
Jordan sold the car in 2002 through Lake Forest Sportscars in Illinois, and it didn't resurface until this year.
