The New York Giants parted ways with a franchise icon on Tuesday when they released veteran wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.

While Beckham hadn't had much of a role in the offense through three games, Giants fans were likely sad to see him go. Linebacker Kayvon Thibodeaux certainly was bummed to learn of his release.

"Wish him the best. He's a legend in the game and he fought so hard to make his way back in this league," Thibodeaux told reporters. "He's definitely gonna be able to make a statement somewhere so I'm not worried for him."

The decision on Tuesday reportedly was mutual as Beckham looks to find a team where he can make more of an impact. Still, Beckham's brief return to New York was a heartbreaker for some.
