Odell Beckham Jr. Released by Giants, Had 0 Catches in 3 Games After Reunion

Odell Beckham Jr.'s second stint with the New York Giants has come to an end after three games.

Beckham was released by the Giants after receiving just one target with no catches through the first three weeks of the 2026 season.

NFL Network's Mike Garafolo and Ian Rapoport first reported the news.

NFL insider Jordan Schultz added the decision was mutual from both parties with Beckham hoping to land with a team that can better utilize his talent.

Beckham signed with the Giants on June 1, reuniting with the franchise that originally drafted him in 2014. It also marked his return to the NFL after sitting out the 2025 season.

The last time Beckham appeared in an NFL game was in Week 14 of the 2024 season with the Miami Dolphins. He was released a few days after that.

New York added Beckham in part as insurance for Malik Nabers, who was recovering from a torn ACL suffered early in the 2025 season. He performed well in the preseason with seven receptions for 76 yards in three games.

The Giants included Beckham on their 53-man roster after final cuts on Aug. 30. He was part of a receiver room that included Nabers, Malachi Fields, Darnell Mooney and Darius Slayton.

Nabers and Fields have been the two starting receivers for the Giants through the first three weeks. Mooney ranks third on the team in receiving yards so far, behind Isaiah Likely and Nabers.

Beckham has only played 20 offensive snaps through the first three games. He got his first target in Sunday's win over the Tennessee Titans.

If this does mark the end of Beckham's time with the Giants, his 5,476 receiving yards rank as the second-most in franchise history. His 88.3 yards per game is the most for a Giants player.
