Eagles' Nick Sirianni Talks 'Remorse' For Reaction to Hit on Jalen Hurts After Viral Video

Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni is not proud of his reaction to the hard hit Jalen Hurts took from Chicago Bears linebacker D'Marco Jackson in the second quarter on Monday night.

Speaking to reporters after the Eagles' 27-7 loss, Sirianni expressed "remorse" for yelling at Jackson after the play.

"Obviously, you want to always fight for your players, and protect your players. I always come away when I have a moment like that with remorse of, 'Man, I shouldn't have let my emotions get the best of me,'" Sirianni said.

The play saw Hurts scramble and run toward the sideline trying to pick up a first down. As he was stepping out of bounds, Jackson hit him hard in the shoulder area and knocked him off his feet.

Sirianni was seen on the sideline appearing to yell expletives in Jackson's direction after the play.

Jackson was flagged for unnecessary roughness, but there were offsetting penalties due to a holding call against Lane Johnson. The officials directed Hurts off the field to be evaluated for a concussion.

Hurts cleared concussion protocol, but the drive ended with Andy Dalton throwing an interception to Bears safety Dillon Thieneman in the end zone to keep Chicago up 7-0 midway through the second quarter.

The Eagles suffered their first loss of the season on Monday night. Their seven points was their fewest in a game since Week 12 of the 2021 season against the New York Giants, which was Sirianni's first year as head coach.
