USMNT vs. Peru Score, Highlights, Stats and Reaction

The United States men's national soccer team's future shined bright on Saturday in a 4-1 victory against Peru at Orlando's Inter.co Stadium.

Two players making their USMNT debuts—19-year-old Orlando City forward Justin Ellis and 18-year-old New York Red Bulls forward Julian Hall—scored goals.

Cavan Sullivan, a 16-year-old Philadelphia Union midfielder, also debuted as the youngest USMNT player since Freddy Adu in 2006.

Overall, 11 players made their senior team debuts on the afternoon.

Ellis got the Americans on the board in the fourth minute after he flicked a header off Gio Reyna's free kick onto the back post.

Sullivan nearly made it 2-0 after he fired a 10th-minute shot in the box, but his effort was blocked.

Peru soon provided the equalizer in the 15th minute after Gianluca Lapadula headed the ball in following Yoshimar Yotún's looping cross.

The United States and Peru went into the half level at one. The U.S. had possession for 69 percent of the half and had eight shots (two on target) to Peru's three (two on target). The U.S. had a pair of yellow cards (Sullivan and Reyna).

The Americans took control in the second half with a pair of goals.

First, Malik Tillman scored a 66th-minute penalty to put the United States up 2-1 and continue his hot stretch dating back to the World Cup.

Then, 18-year-old Julian Hall came off the bench and scored in the 72nd minute after finishing a cross from Sebastian Berhalter.

Berhalter got on the board himself in the 90th minute after he fired a laser outside the box.

For the match, the United States had possession 70 percent of the time. The Americans had six shots on goal (16 shots overall) to Peru's two (five shots overall). Peru had four yellow cards in the second half.

The United States will pick up their international schedule Tuesday when they play Chile. They'll then face Mexico on Saturday and Canada on Tuesday, Oct. 6.
