LeBron James, Kevin Hart Planning YouTube Golf Collaboration, Negotiations Nearing Finish Line

Two of the biggest names in their respective industries are teaming up for a new golf show.

Per Front Office Sports' David Rumsey, NBA icon LeBron James and actor/comedian Kevin Hart are planning a collaboration on a YouTube golf showdown, with the negotiations nearing the finish line.

"We've got a big match coming up," Hart said. "We're just giving ourselves some time to both improve so that when we show up, there's a nice amount of juice to amplify the concept of the game."

With the rise of golf YouTube channels over the past few years, James and Hart have both gotten into making videos separately. James started his channel over the summer, with his first video being a vlog of his golf trip with members of the championship-winning 2016 Cleveland Cavaliers team.

James' channel has garnered over 600,000 subscribers, with his first video hitting nearly 3 million views. He's since posted two more long-form videos documenting his golf battles.

Hart started his YouTube channel last month and has picked up more than 80,000 subscribers and 2.5 million views on his first video.

James got into golf a few years ago, and it quickly became one of his favorite pastimes. Before delving into the YouTube world, his social media account was filled with photos and videos of him playing golf.

"It's hard as s--t," James said last September (h/t ESPN's Kalan Hooks). "... I wanted a challenge, man, and I like being uncomfortable. Golf is like one of the few places where I can go where I don't get bothered as much."

Hart is also relatively new to the sport but appears to be making some progress, based on his YouTube videos.

Golf has long been one of the more inaccessible sports, but YouTubers have inspired a new generation of golfers by playing it in a non-traditional way from what has been the standard for years.

James and Hart are arguably the two biggest names to have created YouTube channels dedicated to golf, and their eventual showdown should draw quite an audience.

When the two will tee up together remains to be seen.

"We want people to tune in and watch," Hart said. "But right now we said let's give ourselves a certain bandwidth of space to get better."
