Bill Belichick Calls Out 'Ridiculous' Rumors on Jordon Hudson's Role with UNC Football Team

UNC head coach Bill Belichick is clearing the air about his girlfriend Jordon Hudson's involvement with the football team.

Speaking to Allie Jones of The Wall Street Journal, Belichick called out the narratives that have suggested that Hudson pursued an official role with the Tar Heels.

"The way the story was picked up was a long way from that," he said. "Like, 'She's trying to be the general manager of the team,' and it's so ridiculous."

The 74-year-old Belichick has long faced scrutiny for his relationship with the 25-year-old Hudson. During Belichick's first season as UNC head coach, Hudson's influence came under the spotlight when she interrupted his interview with CBS Sunday Morning multiple times.

Still, Belichick explained to Jones that Hudson has been assisting him with other aspects of his career that don't pertain to the Tar Heels.

"When I took the job here, it was December, and at that time I was doing five TV shows, the radio show, I had a book coming out," Belichick said. "I had a lot of other things going on when I took the job."

He continued: "So, I sent an email when I got here and I said, Can you please forward any requests to Jordon about my personal appearances so that I can work and coordinate them outside the university? Didn't have anything to do with the university. Well, that was leaked as released as 'Jordon's involved in every single thing that I do and she's copied on every email.' That's just a flat-out lie."

When asked to describe his current working relationship with Hudson, Belichick said, "There are some things that she helps me schedule or look at. It's not North Carolina stuff."

Belichick and the Tar Heels are off to a 2-0 start this season and will face Clemson (1-1) on Saturday.
