Ryan Day Hypes 'Monster' Ohio State vs. Texas Game, Julian Sayin Says 'It's Full Throttle'

The No. 1 Ohio State Buckeyes opened the 2026 season with a 56-3 win over Ball State. They weren't taking much time to celebrate the victory.

"The minute we [left] the locker room, it's on to Texas," head coach Ryan Day told reporters. "There'll be times we enjoy [wins] through the night. Not this one."

Day called the showdown a "monster game" as the Buckeyes head to Austin to face the No. 5 Longhorns.

"A great opponent. They have really good talent across the board," he added of the Longhorns. "So it's going to be a great environment. But this is what we're going to have to do this year when you look at our schedule. We're going to have to be able to go on the road and win games like this."

Quarterback Julian Sayin, meanwhile—after throwing for 320 yards and recording four total touchdowns—said Ohio State has been "thinking all summer" about facing Texas.

"It's full throttle on to Texas," he added. "And we can't wait for the matchup."
