Florida State linebacker Ethan Pritchard, who survived a gunshot wound to the head on Aug. 31, 2025, walked out with the Seminoles on Saturday prior to their home game against New Mexico State.

Pritchard spoke with Spectrum News 13 about the trials and tribulations he went through just to get to this point.

Pritchard was a 3-star linebacker in the class of 2025 out of Seminole High School in Sanford, Florida. He signed with the Seminoles in Dec. 2024.

It's been a tough road for him since the tragedy, but he's been a determined fighter all along the way.

In June, Pritchard spoke with Peter Holland of the Tallahassee Democrat and stated his goal of walking onto Doak Walker Stadium's field for the opener.

"I don't want to put no specific time standpoint, but I will tell you that I'm going to walk out there on the field, come first game. I feel like I already beat the hard part. I beat death. This is just getting my body back."

Pritchard has accomplished the mission and told reporters on Friday how well he was doing.

"I am feeling great, better than ever, better than I did before I got shot," Pritchard said, per Sarah Winkelmann of Spectrum News 13.

Best wishes to Pritchard, of course, as he continues his recovery.
