Alabama, Tennessee Reportedly Set to Renew Historic Uniform Matchup for 2026, 2027 SEC Games

Alabama and Tennessee are reportedly planning to revive a longstanding tradition in their historic rivalry.

According to ESPN's Pete Thamel, the Crimson Tide and the Vols will both wear their home jerseys during their SEC matchups in 2026 and 2027. It will be the first time since 1970 that they will wear Alabama crimson and Tennessee orange in their rivalry game.

The rivalry between Alabama and Tennessee dates back over a century, with the Crimson Tide leading the all-time series 60-40-8. Still, the Vols' 40 wins are the most victories over Alabama of any program in college football.

The two teams have traded wins in each of the last four seasons, with Alabama taking home a 37-20 victory in 2025. They will meet on Oct. 17 this year.
