5-Star QB Donald Tabron II Announces Commitment Between LSU, Texas A&M, Oregon

5-star quarterback prospect Donald Tabron II committed to Texas A&M on Saturday, according to Rivals' Hayes Fawcett.

Tabron is listed as the No. 3 quarterback and No. 29 overall player in the 2028 recruiting class, per 247Sports' composite rankings.

He chose the Aggies over fellow finalists LSU and Oregon.

Tabron also received offers from schools such as Auburn, Illinois, Indiana, Miami, Michigan, Ohio State, Oregon, UCLA and Washington.

He's currently entering his junior season at Cass Technical High School in Detroit, Michigan.

Tabron revealed that his relationships with new Texas A&M offensive coordinator Holmon Wiggins and quarterbacks coach Joey Lynch influenced his decision to join the Aggies.

"As soon as [Wiggins and Lynch] got their jobs in January, they've been in communication with me ever since," Tabron told ESPN's Eli Lederman. "It's been consistent from then to now. And then I've been there three times this year. Being able to see it in person, going for a game last year and just being able to build a really good relationship with them made the difference."

He owns a 23-1 record as a starter in high school and is coming off a 2025 season in which he threw for 2,819 yards and 35 touchdowns, leading his team to Michigan's Division 1 title game (h/t 247Sports' Andrew Ivins).

Tabron is the second member of Texas A&M's 2028 recruiting class under head coach Mike Elko, joining pass-rusher Chance Archangel.

The Aggies are currently looking to remain a contender in the SEC after finishing with an 11-2 record in 2025, making a College Football Playoff appearance.
