New Lakers Rumors on Attendance for Luka Doncic's Upcoming Minicamp Ahead of 2026 NBA Preseason

Almost the entirety of the Los Angeles Lakers roster is heading to Slovenia to participate in Luka Dončić's minicamp later this month, NBA insider Marc Stein reported Monday.

According to Stein, 16 of the 17 players on the Lakers' roster including Austin Reaves, Walker Kessler and Bronny James are making the trip to Dončić's home country.

The program will also features returners like Dalton Knecht, Jarred Vanderbilt and Jake LaRavia alongside newcomers including Quentin Grimes, Collin Sexton, Ziaire Williams, Matisse Thybulle and Sandro Mamukelashvili.

The only player not participating is 2026 first-round pick Cameron Carr, who is "required to participate in an official NBA rookie orientation" that conflicts with the camp, per Stein.

The NBA generally invites recent draft picks to attend a rookie transition program hosted by the league in late August.

ESPN's Dave McMenamin previously reported Dončić is planning on hosting "workouts, golf and some Ljubljana tourism and bonding" prior to his four-day minicamp.

The camp will kick off Dončić's first season as the unofficial leader of the Lakers roster following LeBron James' departure to join the Philadelphia 76ers in free agency.

NBA teams are set to open training camp in late September before opening the 2025-26 regular season Oct. 21.
