Two-way star A'Mir Sears, a 5-star prospect in the high school class of 2027, has chosen to play college football at the University of Miami.

Sears announced his decision live Friday on the CBS Sports College Football YouTube channel.

Per 247Sports, Sears' finalists were LSU, Miami, Michigan and Texas A&M. He's listed as having 47 offers, per 247Sports, including ones from Michigan and Ohio State.

Sears is ranked 11th overall on the latest 247Sports Composite ranking for the class of 2027 and first among athletes.

Sears is staying home and playing for a Hurricanes team that just made the national championship, losing a close battle to Indiana, 27-21.

The 6'1", 178-pound wide receiver and cornerback will star for Miami Columbus after transferring there for his final high school season. He played for West Broward last year and excelled on both sides of the ball, catching 49 passes for 942 yards and 11 touchdowns and adding 61 tackles, three interceptions and 11 pass breakups.

Sears reclassified from the class of 2028 to 2027. Andrew Ivins of 247Sports raved about his potential in a scouting report, calling him a "thrilling, two-way talent that could legitimately play on either side of the ball in college."

"Viewed by many as a shut-down corner, but makes acrobatic grabs on offense and has experience working over the top of a defense at safety," Ivins added.

After adding Sears, Miami now ranks second overall in 247Sports' class of 2027 rankings behind only Texas A&M. No program has more incoming 5-star prospects than Miami, who has five in the class of 2027.

The other four are cornerback Donte Wright, quarterback Israel Abrams, wide receiver Nick Lennear and edge Jaiden Bryant.
