Check Out Notre Dame's New Facilities in Epic Hype Video and Trending Photos

Ahead of the 2026 college football season, the University of Notre Dame showed off its new, state-of-the-art facilities for student-athletes on Friday.

In a video and a series of photos posted on X, Notre Dame highlighted Jack and Kathy Shields Family Hall, which will be the training, recovery, film-study and dining hub for Fighting Irish athletes:

Per Notre Dame's official website, a host of Notre Dame alumni, including former Irish linebacker Jack Shields, first committed to contributing funds to the new facilities back in April 2024.

Included in the facility are "an advanced training room; a stand-alone sports medicine facility; an equipment facility with body scanning and fabrication technology; a new and expanded locker room; meeting rooms, including a two-level, all-team auditorium and an augmented reality walkthrough room; media innovation spaces, including recording studios and photo studios; academic support spaces; and a new player nutrition area," per the Notre Dame website.

The Jack and Kathy Shields Family Hall is also 150,000 square feet, which is nearly 50 percent larger than the previous facility.

Notre Dame's completion of the facility comes at the perfect time, as the Fighting Irish are scheduled to begin their 2026 football campaign on Sept. 6 when they meet Wisconsin at Lambeau Field in Green Bay.
