DeMar DeRozan, Jonathan Kuminga, Bradley Beal's Updated Landing Spots After LeBron James to 76ers

The biggest free agent is finally off the market.

LeBron James agreed to a two-year, $8 million deal with the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday, meaning the rest of the league can go about finalizing their rosters. Some of the biggest names to watch now are DeMar DeRozan, Jonathan Kuminga and Bradley Beal.

Here's a look at some potential landing spots for those three.

DeMar DeRozan's Top Landing Spots

While DeRozan is past his prime, the veteran is still putting up solid numbers and avoiding injuries. He played 77 games last year, logging 18.4 points, 4.1 assists and 2.9 rebounds per game.

He'd make for a solid third option on a number of contenders.

Golden State Warriors

The Warriors were in the mix for James this offseason, but they'll now have to pivot as they try to give Stephen Curry a championship-caliber roster.

Early on in James' free agency, ESPN's Shams Charania reported that DeRozan could be a potential target for Golden State if it missed out on James. He would fit well on the Warriors' roster alongside Curry, Jimmy Butler and Draymond Green.

He'd also be a relatively affordable short-term option that would allow Golden State to continue building for the future while maintaining a competitive roster.

Detroit Pistons

NBA insider Marc Stein reported last week that the Pistons "are still evaluating the prospect of pursuing" DeRozan in free agency this offseason.

The Pistons are coming off a fantastic season, but they didn't have quite enough to get past the second round. A few key additions could be the difference for Detroit.

One of the Pistons' biggest flaws last season was having an offensive weapon alongside Cade Cunningham, and DeRozan would make up for some of the team's shortcomings.

Toronto Raptors

The Raptors are aiming to land Kawhi Leonard this offseason after trading for the star, but they're still waiting for the completion of an investigation into Leonard and the Clippers.

DeRozan wouldn't exactly replace Leonard, but he could be a solid veteran option to add to the roster. Even if the team lands Leonard, signing DeRozan likely wouldn't be off the table.

DeRozan began his career in Toronto, and it could be the perfect place for him to wrap up his career.

Jonathan Kuminga's Top Landing Spots

Kuminga is a free agent for the first time in his career after his team option was declined by the Hawks. The forward put up solid numbers off the bench and is now eyeing a new contract.

Atlanta Hawks

While Atlanta chose not to exercise Kuminga's team option, he remains a candidate to return to the Hawks this offseason.

Perhaps the biggest hurdle is the fact that Atlanta has 17 roster spots filled after landing Lu Dort from the Oklahoma City Thunder, though, so the Hawks would have to part ways with a few players to bring Kuminga back.

Los Angeles Lakers

The Lakers have been one of the biggest known pursuers of Kuminga this offseason, but a gap remains in contract talks between the two sides.

Los Angeles reportedly could have offered the 23-year-old a two-year deal worth $20 million, but Kuminga is eyeing a deal worth nearly $20 million per year.

If Kuminga is willing to come down from that number, he could team up with Luka Doncic and help the Lakers compete this season.

Sacramento Kings

The Kings were interested in Kuminga last summer when he was a restricted free agent, and they also eyed a trade for him last season before he was sent to Atlanta.

The team is still reportedly in the mix for him this offseason.

Sacramento could be an ideal landing spot for Kuminga, as it would give him the chance to be a top option on offense, unlike in Los Angeles or Atlanta.

Bradley Beal's Top Landing Spots

Beal declined his $5.6 million player option with the Los Angeles Clippers and is now a free agent. The former star missed almost all of last season due to a hip injury, and it's unclear what a 2026-27 version of him will look like.

Boston Celtics

NBA insider Jake Fischer noted that the Celtics are a potential landing spot for Beal following his Clippers exit, and he could be an ideal fit in Boston.

Beal isn't the scorer he once was, but he could give the Celtics some solid scoring on the wing to aid Jayson Tatum as he looks to lead Boston to the playoffs without Jaylen Brown.

It's also worth noting that Beal and Tatum, both St. Louis natives, are good friends, and Tatum would surely have some influence in getting Beal to Boston.

Miami Heat

The Heat reportedly have interest in Beal, and according to Clutch Points' Brett Siegel, the interest is mutual.

Miami missed out on James but still managed to trade for Giannis Antetokounmpo. Now the Heat are looking for some perimeter scoring to bolster the roster.

Los Angeles Clippers

While Beal chose not to exercise his player option with the Clippers, it wouldn't be surprising to see him stay in Los Angeles.

Assuming the Kawhi Leonard trade goes through, the Clippers could have the cap space to give Beal a bit more money than he was set to get. Los Angeles will also be looking to avoid being among the bottom three teams in the league, since that will hurt their chances in the draft lottery given the new system.
