FC 27 Drops New Gameplay Trailer and Release Date After Revealing Cover for Kylian Mbappe

EA Sports provided the first peek at FC 27 following the reveal of Kylian Mbappé.

Thursday brought the first full trailer for the game, which offered a snapshot of the gameplay changes and the introduction of the new The Grounds game mode.

FC 27 will release on Sept. 25 with with early access beginning Sept. 18.

The Grounds is undoubtedly the most notable feature for FC 27.

Much like the open-world experience in NBA 2K's The City, EA described it as "a new social football playground." Gamers will be able to take their personalized character around a living ecosystem and compete against friends or other players from around the world.

EA also touted the presence of "mentors" in The Grounds, including cover star Mbappé and Alex Hunter, the fictional player from The Journey in the old FIFA franchise.

In terms of changes to current game modes, FC 27 will boast a new transfer market interface. The mechanics have been tweaked so that fees more closely align with real-world valuations, and fans can expect to have more competition from rival clubs.
