LSU's Lane Kiffin Says He Deleted All Social Media Apps Off of His Phone Ahead of 2026 CFB Season

Don't expect to hear as much from Lane Kiffin on social media during the 2026 college football season.

The LSU coach told reporters Thursday he removed all of the social media apps from his phone. He said his son motivated him to dial back the amount of time he's online, and he has come to enjoy disconnecting a bit:

Kiffin has generally been a fixture on social media over the years, often using the platforms to troll rival schools.

However, the coach has been noticeably quiet in recent months. He has posted just once to his X account since mid-May, and it's a similar story on Instagram.

Kiffin is bound to return eventually, and he may have a hard time staying away once the season kicks off. That'll be a prime opportunity to celebrate LSU's wins, goad some opposing schools, or a combination of the two.

The 51-year-old has been a polarizing figure throughout his coaching career, and his move to Baton Rouge ahead of the College Football Playoff was particularly divisive.

College football is more fun when marquee coaches such as Kiffin are willing to be big personalities, though.
