Florida's Jon Sumrall Calls Out Reporters When Phone Goes Off During Presser in Trending Video

Florida head coach Jon Sumrall was not thrilled when a phone began ringing during his press conference at SEC media days on Wednesday.

Sumrall said such an act would have gotten the reporter kicked out of a team meeting were he a Florida player:

The reporter wasn't a player or employed by Florida, of course. And joking about throwing the podium wasn't the best look, especially considering Sumrall seemed genuinely aggrieved in the moment, though plenty of the reporters in the room laughed at the suggestion.

Not everybody thought his reaction was warranted, however:

Sumrall will bring that fire to Gainesville as he looks to break what has been a recent trend of mediocrity. The Gators haven't posted a double-digit win season since 2019 and still have not played in the College Football Playoff.
