Lane Kiffin Sold Mississippi House to Ole Miss HC Pete Golding After Taking LSU Job

Pete Golding inherited Lane Kiffin's job as Ole Miss' head coach after Kiffin left for LSU, but that isn't the only thing he got from the Rebels' former coach this offseason.

Golding told ESPN's Pete Thamel that he bought Kiffin's house in Mississippi following Kiffin's departure.

"(Lane) helped me on this one a little bit .... because he had another offer that he actually worked out to where I could get it, and the other person couldn't," he said.

Now set up in Kiffin's former home, Golding is looking to match Kiffin's success at Ole Miss.

Kiffin helped the Rebels reach the College Football Playoff last season, but Golding took over before the postseason. The Rebels' former defensive coordinator did well in his first few games as head coach, leading Ole Miss to wins over Tulane and Georgia before losing to Miami in the semifinal.

His success should create some optimism in Oxford as he begins his first full season as head coach. Ole Miss will also bring back a number of top players from last season, including quarterback Trinidad Chambliss and running back Kewan Lacy.

The Rebels will welcome Kiffin back to Oxford on Sept. 19, a game that will be on everyone's watch list this year.
