Chip Kelly Wears Hard Hat in Trending Photo amid Northwestern Stadium Construction

After taking over as the offensive coordinator at Northwestern, Chip Kelly isn't afraid to get his hands dirty.

Kelly was photographed in a hard hat and construction vest while speaking to reporters on Tuesday amid the ongoing renovations at the new Ryan Field, which is set to open on Oct. 2 when Northwestern hosts Penn State.

Kelly was hired by Northwestern under head coach David Braun in December following his brief stint as offensive coordinator of the Las Vegas Raiders. He's joining a Wildcats team that went 7-6 in 2025.
