Missouri RB Ahmad Hardy Medically Cleared After Being Shot At Concert in May

Missouri running back Ahmad Hardy is "medically cleared" after he was shot in May while attending a concert in Mississippi.

Tigers coach Eli Drinkwitz told reporters Monday that the school is still unsure of when Hardy will be able to play. He cited a possible timeline of five to eight weeks.

"My anticipation and what I've seen, the way he's attacked his rehab, he's going to be a better Ahmad Hardy than when he was before, and I'm very proud of the way that he's approached his recovery," Drinkwitz said.

Hardy has had a prolific start to his college career.

As a true freshman at Louisiana-Monroe in 2024, he ran for 1,351 yards and 13 touchdowns. Upon transferring to Mizzou in 2025, his production improved as he went for 1,649 yards and 16 scores on the ground.

Hardy has the distinction of leading the Sun Belt and SEC in rushing yards in successive seasons, and he was a consensus All-American with the Tigers.

Based on the estimate provided by Drinkwitz, Hardy may still have a chance to suit up for Missouri's 2026 opener against Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Sept. 3.
