World Cup Final 2026 Halftime Show Reaction and Highlights from Shakira, BTS, Madonna's Performance
FIFA went full Super Bowl halftime show for Sunday's World Cup final, bringing out Shakira, BTS, Justin Bieber, The Muppets, Ted Lasso (yes, Ted Lasso) and Madonna for an elongated performance in the middle of Spain vs. Argentina.
It was quite the spectacle. Here's how fans felt about the show:
Traditionally, the World Cup halftime break lasts a total of about 15 minutes. But FIFA allotted up to 30 minutes for this year's edition, with an 11-minute performance alongside time for building and breaking down the stage and potential time for substitution warmups as well.
It was quite a bit of time for Lionel Messi, Lamine Yamal and the rest of the players to sit and wait, lasting 27 minutes in total. There were a few thoughts on that as well:
As for the game itself, Argentina and Spain were scoreless after 45 minutes of play, setting up an intriguing second half. Once the halftime stage and performers were finally cleared off the field, of course.
