Trae Young Rips Jalen Brunson Knicks Jersey in Trending Video of WWE Entrance at Fanatics Fest
Trae Young might be preparing for his first full season with the Washington Wizards by continuing his beef with the New York Knicks.
Young ripped apart a Jalen Brunson jersey as part of his WWE Superstar Entrance at Fanatics Fest Saturday in New York.
Young helped eliminate the Knicks from the first round of the 2021 playoffs on his way to leading the Atlanta Hawks to the 2021 Eastern Conference Finals.
He embraced a villain role during the series that culminated with him bowing to the Knicks fans after an elimination Game 5 win at Madison Square Garden.
Young referenced that series when trolling Knicks fans in a video posted Friday to his Instagram story.
The beef between Young and the Knicks continued into the 2024 NBA Cup, during which Young mimed throwing dice on the Knicks logo after the Hawks eliminated the home team in the quarterfinals.
Young played just 15 total games last season, including five following his January trade from the Hawks to the Wizards, before he was shut down with a quad injury for the rest of the season.
He was an All-Star as recently as the 2024-25 season, when he contributed 24.2 points per game while leading the NBA with an average of 11.6 assists.
The Wizards are hoping to take the next step in their rebuild next season by adding Young and Anthony Davis to a young core of A.J. Dybantsa, Kyshawn George and Alex Sarr.
The Wizards have lost 12 straight games to the Knicks and haven't emerged victorious from the matchup since January 2023.
Young seems determined to make sure the Wizards' next attempt to break that losing streak against the defending NBA champions is a must-watch event.
