Fan's 2021 Post Trends After Predicting Argentina vs. Spain 2026 World Cup Final Matchup

As it turns out, a five-year-old post was not able to perfectly predict the future.

Back in 2021, a person online seemed to predict that Argentina would beat Spain 3-2 at this year's World Cup final:

While that matchup turned out to be accurate, the outcome was not. Spain pulled out a 1-0 victory in extra time, resulting in both the predicted winner and score being incorrect:

A 3-2 Argentina win would have been a bit of an upset, given that Spain has only lost once since the 2024 Euros (a tournament they also won) and only allowed one goal at this year's World Cup. But Argentina had been the comeback kids and have the greatest player to ever step on a soccer pitch in Lionel Messi.

In the end, Spain managed to prove the fan's prediction wrong.
