New NBA Rumors on Jaylen Brown and Joel Embiid's Relationship After 76ers-Celtics Trade
New teammates Jaylen Brown and Joel Embiid have spoken to each other since Brown was acquired by the Philadelphia 76ers in a blockbuster trade with the Boston Celtics, according to Tony Jones of The Athletic.
Hall of Fame wing Tracy McGrady previously said that Brown and Embiid hadn't held a conversation since the swap on his podcast, Cousins with Vince Carter & Tracy McGrady.

Early NBA Draft Steals 😮💨
The 76ers added Brown while sending Paul George, two first-round draft picks and two second-round picks to the Celtics on July 6.
According to ESPN's Shams Charania, Boston "already had questions about the fit on a personal level" between Brown and fellow star Jayson Tatum before making the trade.
It's also worth noting that Brown called out Embiid for flopping on a Twitch livestream prior to the change of scenery.
"Flopping has ruined our league," Brown said in May. "Joel Embiid is one of the greatest players that has played basketball, but he flops. He knows it too."
Still, 76ers president of basketball operations Mike Gansey told 97.5 The Fanatic that Embiid was "excited" to play alongside Brown.
"He is fired up. I called him right after the trade, and he is excited," Gansey said. "It will obviously be a big change, but I think they are welcoming it."
Brown is coming off a 2025-26 campaign in which he averaged a career-high 28.7 points to go along with 6.9 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game. He shot 47.7 percent from the field and 34.7 percent from three-point territory.
As for Embiid, he recorded 26.9 points per game on 48.9/33.3/85.4 shooting splits across 38 appearances last season.
Brown, Embiid, Tyrese Maxey and VJ Edgecombe will now look to help the 76ers go on a deeper playoff run after their second-round appearance.
