Ted Lasso star Cristo Fernández debuted Saturday for El Paso Locomotive FC.

The actor, who portrays Dani Rojas in the television series, came on as a substitute in the 79th minute of El Paso's 2-0 loss to New Mexico United in the USL Cup.

Fernández played competitively at the youth level before focusing on a new career. He signed with El Paso in May following a two-month trial.
