New NBA Rumors on Tyrese Haliburton's Timeline to Return to Pacers from Achilles Injury
The Indiana Pacers are hopeful that star point guard Tyrese Haliburton will be ready for the beginning of the 2026-27 season as he recovers from an Achilles tear, according to NBA insider Chris Haynes.
"League sources have informed me that the Indiana Pacers are extremely optimistic that Haliburton will be available for day one of the season-opener for the 2026-27 season," Haynes reported Saturday.
Haliburton missed the Pacers' entire 2025-26 campaign after suffering a torn right Achilles tendon in Game 7 of the 2025 NBA Finals.
His recovery was also impacted after he was diagnosed with facial shingles on Feb. 22.
Indiana struggled without Haliburton serving as its offensive engine, finishing with a mere 19-63 record.
The two-time All-Star recently provided an encouraging update regarding his health, though.
"I feel great," Haliburton told reporters on June 27. "Body feels great. I'm able to do everything. I feel like I'm operating like I'm a healthy NBA player for the first time in a long time, which is exciting."
His eventual return will undoubtedly provide a boost to Indiana's starting lineup after he earned All-NBA Third Team honors for his 2024-25 season.
Haliburton averaged 18.6 points, 9.2 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 1.4 steals per game while shooting 47.3 percent from the field and 38.8 percent from behind the arc.
