World Cup 2026 Odds and Predictions for Saturday Quarterfinal Bracket Matches
The 2026 World Cup quarterfinals continued to unfold on Friday, which means the final eight are down to the final six. Spain got a late goal from Mikel Merino to break a 1-1 stalemate with Belgium and secure a spot in the semifinal round.
Spain now has a date with France, while Belgium will join the rest of the world preparing for the next World Cup.
The two remaining quarterfinal games will unfold on Saturday, setting up the semifinals, which will begin on Tuesday afternoon. Here's a look at what's ahead for Saturday's slate and the remaining World Cup bracket.
England vs. Norway
1 of 3
Time: Saturday, July 11 at 5 p.m. ET
Venue: Miami Stadium
Money Line: England -230 (bet $230 to win $100), Norway +184 (bet $100 to win $184)
Saturday's opener will be a thriller that involves two of the tournament's top stars, Harry Kane of England and Erling Haaland of Norway.
In many ways, Haaland has been the breakthrough star of the tournamentโan incredible feat in a field that has featured Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappรฉ, and Cristiano Ronaldo. The Manchester City star has long been known to Premier League fans, but he has introduced himself to more casual fans in his first World Cup.
Haaland's ability to score from almost anywhere, often out of nowhere, has made Norway a threat at every turn.
"The main thing he's good at is in the box he's frightening," Manchester City defender Harry Maguire said, per ESPN's Rob Dawson. "He doesn't get involved much in the game. I think he tries to make defenders feel comfortable. If you switch off, he gets a yard on you."
Haaland will be a massive test for England's backline and keeper Jordan Pickford. Another potential problem will be the absence of defender Jarell Quansah, who was given a two-game ban following a red card against Mexico. He won't be available Saturday, and if the Three Lions advance, he won't be available in the semis either.
However, England has shown the ability to lean into adversity in this tournament. The Three Lions' win over Mexico at Estadio Aztecaโwhich included a 10-man final third because of Quansah's red cardโshould have them prepared for everything Norway can bring.
Expect Kane, Bukayo Saka, Jude Bellingham, and the rest of the English attack to pressure รrjan Nyland throughout the match at a pace that not even Haaland can pace.
Prediction: England 3-2 Norway
Argentina vs. Switzerland
2 of 3
Time: Saturday, July 11 at 9 p.m. ET
Venue: Kansas City Stadium
Money Line: Argentina -325, Switzerland +250
Argentina is the defending World Cup champion but hasn't looked particularly sharp through the round of 16. It narrowly avoided an upset against Cabo Verde in the round of 32, and it had to overcome a late two-goal second-half deficit to push past Egypt.
It has largely felt, to this point, that La Albiceleste has done just enough to allow Messi's heroics to save the day. For long stretches on Tuesday, it genuinely felt like Messi wouldn't be enough.
"I felt like I had let the team down at an important moment," Messi said, per The Athletic's Oliver Kay. "But fortunately, fate had something special for me at the end, and I managed to score the equaliser."
Argentina, of course, isn't a one-man team, but it'll need standouts like Juliรกn รlvarez and Enzo Fernรกndez to make their presence felt against Switzerland in order to advance.
It won't be a surprise to see the Swiss, sensing that Argentina has been on the brink of an upset, to embrace the underdog role and play a dangerously aggressive brand of football.
Switzerland, of course, is an underdog. It reached the quarterfinals for the first time since 1954, and it outlasted a terrific Colombia squad to get here. Argentina's defense will be regularly tested by Johan Manzambi, Dan Ndoye, Ruben Vargas, and a potent Swiss attack.
The prediction here is that both defenses lock in and make this a low-scoring game. Messi pulls off some late magic once again, outshining Manzambi and delivering a semifinal berth to Argentina.
Prediction: Argentina 2-1 Switzerland
