LeBron James' Free Agency Timeline Updated by Rich Paul amid Latest NBA Rumors

Anyone refreshing their social media hoping to get an update about LeBron James' signing can probably take a break since it doesn't sound like an answer is imminent.

On the latest episode of the Game Over podcast, James' agent, Rich Paul, told Max Kellerman "there is none" when asked about a timeline for the future Hall of Famer to sign.

Even though the timeline for James doesn't seem to have a definite end date, teams are doing what they can to sell him.

ESPN's Shams Charania reported on Thursday that "leading suitors" for James have been sending voice memos to Paul, who then forwards them along to the four-time NBA MVP.

The Cleveland Cavaliers, Miami Heat, Golden State Warriors, Minnesota Timberwolves and Philadelphia 76ers were teams listed by Charania.

It's not a surprise those teams would be mentioned since that group seems to be who James is choosing from.

One reason James doesn't have a timeline to decide is because those clubs are largely set in terms of what they can offer him. There's a little wiggle room teams like the Cavs and Warriors, depending on what their expected deals for James Harden and Draymond Green come in at.

For the most part, though, James is likely looking at a minimum deal and simply figuring out where his best fit will be.

A point of emphasis from James' camp after revealing he would not be returning to the Los Angeles Lakers is he was prioritizing his "happiness" over money, though it's unclear what exactly that means.

James is very familiar with the Cavs and Heat, having played for both clubs before. He spoke about having a desire to play with Stephen Curry in the NBA after their experience as teammates for Team USA in the 2024 Olympics.

There's no direct correlation between James and the other teams interested in him, but they are all expected to be title contenders during the 2026-27 season.

James is coming off a season in which he averaged 20.9 points, 7.2 assists and 6.1 rebounds per game in 60 starts for the Lakers.
